Sit back and cruise the river as you listen to a story that will captivate
and educate you on Savannah's history. Starting 12,000 years ago with
the first inhabitants of Native Americans you will hear the events leading up to General James Edwards Oglethorpes creation of the colony of Georgia. Then follow him as he procures treaties with the neighboring Yamacraw, Creek and Cherokee tribes to secure Savannah's safety and welfare and then eases the town into a period of growth and prosperity. Peace cannot last for long, and Savannah has had her fair share of
battles and key importance in the Revolutionary and Civil Wars.

The river floods the estuaries that are nurseries of the sea. Just on
